I know Lunatone isn't officially out yet for Sun/Moon, but I was wondering if anyone would know the answer to this anyway. I've also always wondered why Melemele and Ula'ula have fewer trials than Akala Melemele is the most populous island iirc and Ula'ula is the largest by area. Area 8, past the rocky terrain, reached by following the stone stacks in the order 2-1-4-2 (requires Mudsdale Gallop) The same goes for the Haina Desert: they don't allow you to enter it until you clear Acerola's trial, and even then you needn't go there you're shipped on back to the Aether House.
